Wednesday.

320 more days to go...

Yay! I am done with March!!! That makes only 10 more months left..almost into single digits (at least month-wise). Mr. Weather Man is promising fantastic weather starting tomorrow...and I'm just dying to not have to wear a sweater and jacket..and I have to say that I'm tired of wearing jeans as well (gasp!). When will it be time to wear sundresses, shorts, sandals, cute little halter tops?!? I've waited long enough!! Notice the excess of exclamation marks in my little rant here...it seems I've become quite dramatic (what, me, dramatic??). Is it time for bed yet? Good night.

Tuesday.

321 more days to go...

Ever have one of those days (weeks, months) where you just don't want to do anything? Today is so one of those days. It looks as if washing my hair was one of those 'anythings' , but I swear I washed it! My collection of casual button down shirts are quickly becoming my new sweatshirt. Well, enough moping around. It is Tuesday, after all....LOST night:)

322 more days to go...

And it's Monday. I'm tired. The end.

Party in the USA (philly!)

324, 323 more days to go...

Saturday night...

So many parties, so little time. I'm still not feeling 100% but there was no way I was going to miss tonight's fun. Started out the night with Dinner Party with Lynne and Ron (delicious as always), then celebrated Tamara's 40th Birthday (she doesn't look a day over 30), then headed downtown for Garnette's Bachlorette Party. Those who know her, knows that she is the ultimate bachelorette! So I got dressed in my party outfit, threw on a heavy coat (still frigid out!), and headed out for the night. To me, sequins+heels+short skirt= Party outfit.

We danced the night away at G Lounge with our bride-to-be!

By the time I got home, it was early Sunday morning, my head was starting to pound, and my throat felt like it had small frog in it.....I think I'm starting to feel my age...

Sunday...

Sleeping in til almost noon was fantastic. There was plenty of tossing and turning in the middle of the night when I thought I was going to die from (what felt like) a sweaty fever, but when I woke up, I felt amazingly better. The in-laws arrived today and we had decided to have dinner at our favorite restaurant: Little Fish.

On the menu: anchovy salad with almond and garlic, mussels with carrot and tarragon, sturgeon with honey mustard, marlin fish taco with pineapples, and chocolate truffle tart...ooohhh

On my menu for the date: cardigan and silk cargo skirt from Anthropologie, silk racer back tank from Graham and Spencer, and pink Christian Dior snakeskin heels.

What a nice weekend:)

A (very) Sick Day

325 more days to go...

Drip, drip, sniffle, sniffle, cough, sneeze . The constant sound of my very own (ill) symphony. It doesn't sound very good, and feels even worse. Coming back from vacation sucks. I love that it's Friday, except that I happen to have a very busy weekend and my health doesn't seem to want to cut me a break. Canceling on Darren and Kristin's housewarming BBQ tonight (sorry guys!), dinner at Ron and Lynne's on Saturday, followed by Tamara's 40th Birthday Party, and then Garnette's Unbachelorette Bachlorette Pary, then Nancy and Matt (mother-in-law, brother-in-law) arrive on Sunday..phew! Not sure if I'll make it to any event..but I'll try!

Last week, I had put away all my winter clothes...since you know, it's suppose to be Spring. But since it's going to cold and rainy and somewhere in the 30's this weekend, I had to dig them back out. I didn't try to look nice today, really wasn't up for it, but thought that jeans, heels, and a pullover sweater should do the trick. Saw my reflection at work, looked like a hot mess (not in a good way, at all). Apparently, Sick is not a good look for me. (is it for anyone?)

Back to Reality

333, 332, 331, 330, 329, 328, 327, 326 more days to go...

I'm back on the east coast leaving behind my sister, sunshine, the beach, mornings without alarm clocks, and apparently, Spring (it is NOT warm in Philly). At least I come home to warm puppies and a cuddly (although overworked) husband. What a fun and relaxing vacation:) The weather was perfect, for the most part; Vegas was a blast, and I'm pretty sure I've gained about 40lbs from all the delicious foods: Jen and I ate 14 desserts (we counted) for dinner one night...it sounds indulgent (Ha!) but we did share them so technically I only ate 7.

I think I surprised more than myself by actually sticking to my 'no-clothes-shopping' policy. It sucked, especially since I did go window shopping with Jen and she bought some adorable outfits:( Instead, I discovered Basin White in Las Vegas and bought 20+ slices of soap; I had to buy something, besides, they're functional, smell really really good, and make great gifts. We hit up J-town in LA where I got some cute Hello Kitty things ( i love hello kitty)...those Japanese really know how to make and package things so damn cutely. Plus, I had to replenish my stash of Hello Kitty items since the husband sold my old collection at a yard sale over the summer for 5 bucks (remember that Honey?)

This was the first time that I didn't pack my famous sweatshirt for a vacation. It was a little sad but I think that it's had a good life, considering it has been all over the world. Well, look at that...I think this is what they call 'progress':)

not-so-Lucky Charm

334 more days to go...

Happy St. Patty's day to all. (I can't believe there are no snakes in Ireland.)

So I get up this morning with my get-up of green sweater, green jacket, and green shoes. Green is suppose to be good luck, right? or am I thinking of pot-o-gold and four leaf clovers? Whatever, so I have on my green get-up and I'm sprinting to catch the train when I trip on a break in the sidewalk, launch myself 5 feet in the air, and fall face first into the concrete. To make a long and embarrassing story shorter, I tried in vain to save my almond croissant (hot and toasty) from falling out of my hand, missed the train, limped back home to clean up the blood (can't believe I'm all bruised and cut up right before my vacation), called the boss to inform I would be late to our meeting (trying not to cry), and then ate the now cold and dirty almond croissant. So much for luck of the Irish. Is this because I don't drink beer?

A year ago, my sister Jen and I were sunning it up in Bermuda. Other than the near death experience with the out of control scooter, we had a Fantastic time. Sooo excited about going home to see her and of course, we love Vegas. I've packed a suitcase full of cute outfits (no sweats!) that I can't wait to wear:) See you guys next week!

Take a Bow

335 more days to go...

Oh so close, only 48 more hours until I set foot on the west coast. You would think that I'm already packed and ready to go, but of course that's not the case. There's still laundry to be done, bags that need to be filled, and do I even know which airlines I'll be traveling on? Maybe if I just sit amongst the mess of clutter around me, everything will magically come together.

Bows happen to one of my favorite details on clothes and accessories. What could be more girly than that? I know I'm starting to get to the age when maybe they're becoming slightly more inappropriate(?), but they are everywhere these days. I'll take advantage of this trend for as long as I can. Hopefully by the time they go out of style I'll have a little girl of my own I can transfer my love of bows to:)

An un-Manic Monday

336 more days to go...

Only 3 more days til I get to head home to LA and I am already in vacation mode. I keep thinking of the sunny dry heat, smell of the beach, lollicups (yummy asian drink place), and Vegas. There's no way these next few days won't fly by.

I won't be needing this chunky knit sweater where I'm heading but since the east coast chill refuses to go away...

One Month Down...

338, 337 more days to go...

Where should I start? It has officially been one month of no shopping and I can't believe that I have made it this far. It hasn't been as difficult a task as I initially thought, but maybe because it's been a super busy month. Hopefully, I will continue to have super busy months, 11 more times:)

This weekend was one full of celebration. Saturday, we traveled to Marrakesh for Janine's Birthday. The gloomy/wet weather did not stop us from stuffing ourselves full of what was an interesting (and yummy) meal and of course stuffing dollar bills into the belly dancers skirt.

Sunday, we celebrated longer days (yay!), Darren's and Kristin's first house (yay!), and the up coming nuptials of Lynne and Ron (yay!).
After waking up too late to for yoga (oops), Nick and I joined Brian and Molly for a fulfilling brunch at the Trolley Cart Diner before heading over to K and D's new home to welcome her (are houses female?) to the family. Such an adorable neighborhood:)
Next came Lynne's bridal shower...oh the things we make brides-to-be do at these things:) Yes, that is a 'coconut' bra made out of paper plates. Lynne was looking radiant, as always. Can't wait for the wedding!

Singing in the Rain

339 more days to go...

Blustery wind, gray skies, sideways rain...so why am I singing in the rain? Oh, I don't know, maybe because it's Friday! And what a busy, fun-filled weekend it will be. There will be yoga, massages, belly-dancing-filled 7 course Moroccan dinners, bridal showers, oh my. Plus, Nick's Picks are officially over. I thought it started out awesome, then I started to dress more and more like a boy. See below.

I love bright blue cheery accessories to turn a drab day fab. And who wouldn't want to sing in the rain with zoo animal flats on (you can't see but there's a giraffe and elephant on them).

Tonight, I am saving up my energy for the next 2 days. There will be lots of bad TV watching, chocolate eating, and super early bed time to be had.

Good Night!

Nick's Picks (#3 and #4)

341, 340 more days to go...

Looks like we are moving from dresses to jeans. I don't think that Nick is enjoying putting together outfits the way that I do:) Good thing he only has one more day left; before you know it, I might have been in sweats again. That's ok with me though, I happen to adore rummaging through my closet, it's a bit like treasure hunting...(yes, that's a stretch).

Nick's Picks (#2)

342 more days to go...

I asked Nick what his favorite thing to see me in was. He said, "nothing":) But since that would make going out into public quite indecent, he said he loved seeing me in dresses. So Nick's pick for today is, unsurprisingly, another dress. That's okay by me since I love to wear them.

Tuesday night...gotta go watch LOST!

Nick's Picks (#1)

343 more days to go...

I thought for sure my husband would pick out something way more inappropriate. I'm pleasantly surprised by his choice (although the belt was my idea, it needed a pop of color). He knows me so well:)

Good Night:)

Love Thy Neighbor

345, 344 more days to go...

It's always exciting to meet interesting people, even more exciting when they are your neighbors. Nick and I have been living in our new neighborhood for about 4 months now, and not to be biased, but we have some of the best neighbors ever. We've been slowly getting to know everyone, which is hard to do since it's so cold out and everyone is so busy. We have professors, architects, artists, graphic designers, a librarian, doctors, mothers, grandmothers, I could go on and on! Saturday we went to the Chestnut Hill Gallery to check out our neighbor, Libby's, art opening. It was completely inspirational. Who needs New York (even though I do miss you, NYC) when there's so much culture right here in our own little neighborhood?

Molly and I were so inspired, we plan on doing a little painting ourselves this summer:)

Sunday: got up early, went to Bikram yoga, went to the Mall? Sounds like my usual routine, but don't worry, no shopping. Today's mission involved helping a friend find shoes and lingerie for her wedding day. After hours and hours and hundreds (yes, I exaggerate) and hundreds of pairs of shoes, I can say,"Mission Accomplished". As a side note, it was awful not buying anything. There was this pair of Jimmy Choos...i swear it had my name on it:(

I love LOVE

346 more days to go...

So it's finally Friday, hurray! A swing-y cropped cardigan, jeans, and tank is the perfect transition into the weekend outfit.

I'm a HUGE romantic. It's pretty disgusting, but I just love LOVE. I want all movies to have happy endings, i love seeing little old couples walking hand-in-hand, I believe in everlasting fairytale-like love. I know, it makes plenty of people want to vomit. So I am Thrilled that one of my best friends (and partner in crime when shopping) recently got engaged to the love of her life:) I did get to do a little shopping today with her...for a wedding dress. We knew it as soon as we saw it...the perfect dress. Congrats to the beautiful couple! Can't wait for all the festivities!!

Happy Weekend!

So Good to See You

347 more days to go...

Running into people that I haven't seen in awhile isn't something that I look forward to, usually. That's because it only happens when I'm looking kinda homeless...I never see anyone when I happen to be smokin' hot. I realize now it's because I'm more a creature of comfort on a day to day basis. When I do get dressed up, I go all out; but when I dress down, I can pretty much go to bed in the same outfit.

Not to say that I am uncomfortable (or smokin' hot) now, but I do feel much more put together..everyday. So I was pleasantly surprised to run into several people today that I hadn't seen in awhile. Looking good and feeling good....so great:)

Party in the USA

348 more days to go...

I'm a huge fan of sequins. For my bachelorette party, my girls and I dressed up in sequin dresses with matching red wigs and hit up Vegas with all sorts of flair.

I'm not sure how appropriate they are for the daytime but I'm going to give it a try. Khakis should anchor this outfit but man is it still glittery. Oh well, I can always cover up with my pea coat.

A friend suggested having my husband pick out my outfit for the week in response to my post yesterday. I think it's a great idea:) Nick has his first assignment.

Change of a Dress

349 more days to go...

It's hard to get dressed some mornings. I'm tired, it's cold, and pj's are SO cozy. The last thing I want to do is to try on different things to make sure everything matches... and look cute, of course. A dress seems like the perfect, time-saving outfit...a one pot meal if you may. Unfortunately, they aren't the warmest things (for right now) and I've just realized that layering clothes is hard work. I think I tried on 5 different tops to go under my corduroy dress, the one I settled on made me look least like a child. If only our parents still laid out all our clothes the night before:)

Vintage Italian spectator shoes were perfect for running around in (especially with a short, full skirt). And who doesn't love tassel and fringe detailing? Don't answer that.
Tuesday Night=LOST=WTF.
Good night:)

New Beginnings

350 more days to go...

The first day of March and the warming has begun. Most of the snow has melted and it was actually sunny and warm today. My mother-in-law has arrived in town to visit...which usually consists of me feeling all sorts of stressed out-ness. BUT...the warming has begun. Ever have one of those moments when you realize that you've reached a turning point and that maybe everything will change? It's a nice feeling, warm and fuzzy.

Since the temperature is starting to climb, I can't help but feel sad that I won't be able to wear jackets and outerwear much longer (one of my favorite things to wear). So I think for the rest of the month, I will attempt to at least get some use out of as many as I can. Today, I decided to go with a cropped sateen jacket and layer it with one of my many trenches .
