We're gonna party like it's your Birthday

210, 209, 208, 207, 206, 205, 204 more days to go...

Seems like it was everyone plus their mother's birthdays this week. Well maybe it was just my mother's birthday this week..but it was also my dad's, my brother-in-law's, and my two BFF's. So Happy Birthday Family (mom, dad, Matt) and Happy Birthday Jen and Jangmee!!!! And even though I'm not near any one of you, I celebrated all week for you guys:)

My girlfriends and I are all in the last year of our 20's (yikes). Is there some manual or unwritten rule about what we are suppose to do now? Like a what not to do, what not to wear? I went to a very trendy restaurant this week in the city with Nick and one of the things we noticed immediately was the number of young ladies in super short, super tight, super revealing outfits and topped off with sky high heels. I'm talking about sooo short that bystanders got a free peep show with every step they took. Don't get me wrong, I thought that they looked great. At that age you can pretty much wear anything and get away with it because you're young, your body is slammin', and you just don't care about what others think (or maybe you just don't know any better). But here I am, reminiscing about those outfits that I once wore, but also relieved that I no longer have to (or can) wear them:) I also just read some study about women being their most beautiful at age 31...so ladies, we still have a few more years until we are at our hottest (does it go downhill from there?!?):)

Last week I thought about all the things that I haven't done this summer because of the heat. Well damn it, I am going to change that. Nick and I tailgated and went to a Phillies game on Friday. It was uncomfortably hot and miserably humid but we did it anyways. Was it worth it? Not sure, but we totally won. Yay Phills! This upcoming week, we are going to an outdoor concert in Fairmount Park and maybe have a picnic...we'll see.

Have a great week!

In the Summertime

217, 216, 215, 214, 213, 212, 211 more days to go...

Heat wave number three in Philly this week. I continued my slick backed hair, flip flop, and sunglasses look...anything to keep from melting:) I've been spending as much time as possible inside lately (usually right next to a blasting air conditioner) that I haven't done all the things that I love to do during the summer. Here's my list so far of things not accomplished: have a picnic, paddle a boat in Central Park, have brunch in an outdoor cafe, catch fireflies, outdoor concerts, camping and hiking, eat gelato in Rittenhouse. Not sure if any of these will happen this year (except the eating gelato in Rittenhouse thing), but at least now I've made a physical list that I can try to cross off. Plus, there are all sorts of cute outfits to wear for those activities.

Nick and I've spent this weekend catching up on episodes of Mad Men. I'm just itching to wear shirt dresses, form-fitting sheaths, and high heeled pumps. Can't wait for this Fall!

A Little Bit Lazy

231, 230, 229, 228, 227, 226, 225, 224, 223, 222, 221, 220, 219, 218 more days to go...

It's been a couple of weeks since I've updated my progress...you can say that I am getting a little bit lazy:) The last few weeks has been a bit of a haze...seems like nothing much has happened. Let's see, there was Fourth of July (which I didn't even see any fireworks this year!), I'm close to the 100's in days to go until this experiment is over, and I've made some delicious new desserts (vanilla milkshakes with matcha whipped cream drizzled with homemade chocolate sauce..yummm).

I feel like I'm quickly going through my collection of tanks and shorts but this hot and humid summer is still lingering on, and on, slowly, and forever. What's a girl to do when she runs out of outfits to wear? I did put on some cargo capris that I've had since high school this week. Surprisingly they still fit, but definitely not as loose as they did 10+ years ago. Don't worry, most of my high school clothes have been donated or passed down to younger siblings a long time ago. There are just a few pieces that I just can't seem to let go of...(they're so soft and worn in!). Back in February, my friend had suggested an alteration party where we take pieces that we don't fit into anymore but can't bear to part with and get a tailor to 'reinvent' it into something new. When are we going to do that, Molly? I think I'm ready!
